​Current responsibilities
Walt Lovell is Vice President – Projects, Project and Development Services, and has over 30 years of experience in real estate development, construction, design and project management. 

His primary responsibilities include managing the design and construction of real estate projects leveraging JLL’s project management processes to help achieve speed to market. 

He oversees a team of project and development services experts with a specialized focus on delivering fully integrated real estate solutions including site selection and construction oversight.

Walt has managed new ground up projects as well as rollout of multiple retail sites and construction of industrial projects. He previously served as Vice President of Development and Vice President of Construction for major U.S. corporations, Director of U.S. Construction for a large national retail company, Vice President of a construction consulting and project management firm and Construction Manager at a large General Contractor.

Walt began his career working for an architectural engineering firm as a project manager and designer.

  • Site Evaluations – Leader for the real estate department in evaluation of new sites including demographics, core customer analysis and revenue projections.  He has provided total development cost estimates including permits and fees, utilities to site, impact fees, site work, building construction costs, soft costs for architectural and engineering fees, geotechnical, ALTA, Title, Phase I ESA and FF&E/IT costs. 
  • Design Management – Selected and managed architects, civil engineers, mechanical, electrical and structural engineers. Completed constructability reviews and value engineering studies. Managed pre-construction entitlements and permitting, obtained site plan approvals, planning and zoning approvals and private approvals required by CCR's. Updated prototype construction documents for multi-site concepts.
  • Construction – Mr. Lovell has implemented best practices for real estate and construction processes and contracts. He has project management experience on commercial, office, industrial, entertainment, theater, restaurant, retail, medical, schools shopping malls, mixed use, multi-family condominiums and apartments, build to suits, corporate TI fit-outs and civil works projects.

He has been a requested speaker at seminars and conferences on construction project management throughout the United States and has taught courses at the University of Missouri Engineering Extension and the University of Kansas Architectural Engineering Department.  

Walt earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from the University of Missouri - Rolla and his M.B.A. from the University of Kansas.
