Current responsibilities Frank Teng is West Region Director for Energy & Sustainability Services, overseeing service delivery to corporate and investor clients including Intuit, Charles Schwab, Google, and Intel.
He is responsible for client success, business development, new products, and oversees a team of engineers and subject matter experts on the West Coast. He crafts energy & sustainability solutions that are implemented for facility operations upwards of 46 million square feet in the U.S. and globally.
He has helped clients save more than $2.5 million related to energy and sustainability in commercial, datacenter, retail, and manufacturing spaces. He leads Strategic Waste Solutions, a new JLL offering to holistically manage waste reduction & recycling.
Frank has 12 years of experience in the energy & environmental field, including corporate energy & sustainability, renewable energy, alternative mobility, waste reduction & waste, local/state/federal policy, utility energy efficiency programs, and smart buildings technology.
Frank helped achieve LEED EBOM Gold certification a 1 million sf headquarters campus, and has supported clients including Apple, Autodesk, Clorox, Proctor & Gamble, and VMware with strategic sustainability roadmaps, carbon reporting, green leasing processes, learning & development, and employee engagement. He has led an internal supply chain sustainability initiative for JLL and received two JLL Da Vinci Gold awards for innovations.
ExperienceFrank served as a Senior Associate at the Silicon Valley Leadership Group, where he performed energy and environmental policy analysis and advocacy on climate change, water reliability, hazardous materials, and energy markets.
He managed a $1.7 million commercial energy efficiency partnership with the utility company, helping to implement projects totaling 25.5 million kilowatt-hours in energy savings, and co-authored a climate change case study report.
Frank has conducted field research on recycling markets in Xian, China funded by the National Science Foundation.
EducationFrank holds credentials in LEED AP Operations + Maintenance and is a Certified Energy Manager. He has an MBA in Sustainable Management from the Presidio Graduate School of San Francisco, and a Bachelor of Science degree in Science, Technology, and Society from Stanford University, focused on energy engineering and environmental policy.
AffiliationsHe has served on the Board of Directors of the Presidio Graduate School and as Board Chairman of Sustainable Silicon Valley, a nonprofit private-public organization. He is always looking for good routes for running and cycling, and lives in San Francisco.
