Current responsibilitiesTom Miroslaw is a Vice President, LEED GA and a certified Six Sigma® Master Green Belt in JLL's Energy and Sustainability Services group. In this role, he is responsible for delivering energy management programs for our healthcare clients.
Tom develops programs aligned with the client's energy and sustainability goals and manages the program to achieve those goals.
Experience Tom brings more than 35 years of experience in program management, project management, construction management, and mechanical engineering design, specializing in energy auditing and analysis, energy retrofits, commissioning and energy procurement.
A Certified Energy Manager, Tom has concentrated much of his career in the design and optimization of central energy plants and building energy systems. He has conducted detailed investigations and subsequent design for thermal energy storage, high-efficiency central heating/cooling plants and electric distribution systems. Because energy designs and conservation measures can be implemented in almost any type of facility,
Tom's range of experience includes both new construction and rehabilitation projects for institutional, educational, healthcare, laboratory, industrial, warehouse, administrative, training, federal and utility facilities. He has experience developing and delivering energy savings projects for numerous public and private clients, including: Millikin University, Barnes Jewish Hospital, Northern Illinois University, The University of Chicago, Beaumont Hospitals and Alexian Brothers Healthcare.
Since joining JLL, Tom has overseen the managed energy programs for Beaumont Hospitals (identifying over $2MM in energy savings), Charleston Area Medical Center (over $800K in year one savings), Kindred Healthcare ($1.5MM in energy savings) and Adventist Health. Additionally, he managed the Honeywell Aerospace Energy Program with an energy budget of $76MM and the energy and sustainability program for UnitedHealth Group, a $20MM energy budget. Tom is also a two-time recipient of the JLL Da Vinci Award for Innovation for energy program development.
Specifically within healthcare, Tom is responsible for program delivery for all healthcare clients and the energy program component of the JLL Business Case Analysis program.
EducationTom earned a Bachelor of Science in engineering with a specialization in energy conservation from the University of Illinois.
