​​​Current responsibilities

Jonathan Geanakos is President, Americas, of JLL Capital Markets. Based in New York, he has primary responsibility for leading the firm’s Capital Markets platform across the U.S., Canada, and Latin America, including the growth of its Investment Sales and Finance functions. He also leads the firm's Office Capital Markets practice. Jonathan, in partnership with other senior leaders, also focuses on maintaining and enhancing major client relationships across JLL's entire global Capital Markets business. He is a member of JLL’s Global Capital Markets Executive Board which oversees the firm’s 2,000 employee Capital Markets staff.

Jonathan is nationally recognized in the U.S. real estate industry with over 30 years of experience in real estate finance and investment. Jonathan's energy, passion and experience complements JLL's existing leadership team and his expertise across multiple disciplines including acquisitions, asset management, dispositions, finance and investment banking is critical in helping shape the firm’s global Capital Markets strategy and interactions with its clients.

He has advised institutional, corporate, and private owners and investors in structuring and executing capital market transactions and advisory assignments throughout the United States and Mexico. Jonathan has also assisted clients in executing acquisition, recapitalization and repositioning strategies with particular expertise assisting family and or closely-held companies in the areas of brand expansion, capital raising, strategic growth, and succession planning.​

​Experience

Jonathan comes to JLL from Cabot Street Capital Partners, where he was CEO and Co-Founder. Cabot Street focuses on value added and opportunistic investments on behalf of family offices and institutional investors. Jonathan established Cabot Street as a private real estate platform that evolved from his prior position with Monday Properties, where he served on that firm's leadership committee and led its new business and capital formation efforts.

Previously, Jonathan was a Managing Director and Co-Head of Real Estate Investment Banking at Houlihan Lokey, a global investment banking firm where he expanded the firm's brand including client and transaction origination and management, recruitment, day-to-day management, and strategic business plan development and implementation. Jonathan has also held senior investment brokerage and investment management positions at some of the industry's most recognized firms.​

Education and affiliations

Jon received a Bachelor of Science – Management from the Manning School of Business, University of Massachusetts – Lowell, and a Masters in Business Administration from the F.W. Olin School of Business, Babson College. He is a member of the Urban Land Institute, a licensed real estate broker in the State of New York, a member of the Real Estate Board of New York, and is an advisory board member of the Manning School of Business at the University of Massachusetts – Lowell. ​
