Current Responsibilities

Matthew Cheezem is a Managing Director of JLL S. Fla where he is responsible for managing the organization's mentorship, training and development program.  Matthew is an established thought-leader in the industry whose practice is focused on helping organizations enhance profitability on a local, regional and global basis.  Matthew has been consistently recognized for his involvement in the industry's most impactful transactions throughout all industry sectors.  His specific experience and expertise include the following:

 

  1. Strategic planning and consulting
  2. Lease negotiations ranging from 2,000 Sq. Ft. – 1,000,000 Sq. Ft.
  3. Economic and non-economic lease restructures
  4. Build-to-suit transactions
  5. Portfolio consulting and optimization
  6. M&A advisory services
  7. Sale leasebacks and dispositions of client-owned facilities
  8. Investment analysis and developing financial projections/pro-forma's
  9. Land leases and alternative transaction structuring
  10. Lease accounting and financial engineering
  11. Workplace strategy and occupancy planning
  12. Negotiation, procurement and compliance of state, county and municipal incentives

Experience

Matthew was previously one of Cresa South Florida's Principals that led its unprecedented growth and established the Firm as the market leader for tenant advisory services in Florida prior to JLL acquiring Cresa South Florida in December 2015.   In his role at Cresa, Matthew was the chairman of the global 'ELC' which was tasked creating and managing the education program for sales, service and ethics training.     In addition, Matthew co-led Cresa's global law firm practice group.
