Current Responsibilities
Mr. Robertson has served as Chairman Of Shelter Bay Retail Group since 1981 until its acquisition by JLL in 2015. He works closely with the JLL West Coast market leads to develop new business opportunities and to offer premium real estate management to his current clients.

Mr. Robertson began his career as a real estate attorney. In 1981 he shifted his focus to real estate          development. He quickly realized there was a need for focused, entrepreneurial, owner-oriented retail management services. Consequently in 1986 Mr. Robertson and Ms. Sondra Van Metre, formed Shelter Bay Retail Group. Their combined vision created a successful and dynamic company that filled a void in an industry dominated by corporate managers.

For 30 years Mr. Robertson has handled lease renewals and controlled and directed project brokers in identifying new tenants for managed shopping centers. In pursuit of enhanced revenue, as well as increased valuation through leasing efforts, Mr. Robertson has established positive relationships with national and regional chain tenants, as well as with many local tenants, which allow him to rapidly complete both renewal and new leasing transactions for the benefit of managed projects. As a skilled lease negotiator he has been successful in significantly increasing project revenue, while completing lease transactions fair to both landlord and tenant. The leasing of retail properties, unlike other commercial property types, results in working with the same quality tenants again and again and our clients have benefited from the positive relationships established by Mr. Robertson with retailers through 30 years of transactions solely in the retail venue. This experience has further allowed Mr. Robertson to assist in repositioning tenant mix within shopping centers, when necessary, to once again enhance revenue stream and reduce vacancies.

Education and Affiliations
Mr. Robertson graduated from the University of California, Berkeley, and received his JD from Hastings College of Law. He is a member of the California Bar Association as well as a licensed California real estate broker.
