Current responsibilities
Margie Kurkowski Baran oversees business development for the Project and Development Services group in the Midwest.

She is responsible for strategic account development with a focus on identifying new partnership opportunities. 

Margie is highly collaborative which enables her to better serve clients and bring to bear the most synergistic team and delivery model.

Margie possesses a broad spectrum of expertise developed through her experience in the real estate, architecture and interior design industries. A combination of marketing, business development, strategic planning and management skills are supported by a thorough understanding of all aspects of the Architecture/Interior Design industry.

She is client-relationship driven with extensive design experience and the ability to create and articulate a company's vision and philosophy to improve, promote, and expand their business.

Prior to joining JLL, Margie was the Business Development and Marketing Director at Wright Heerema Architects in Chicago, IL for five years where she cultivated and developed new project opportunities, generated new business with Principals.

Furthermore, she built durable relationships and alliances with strategic partners and acted as liaison to the commercial real estate industry.

Margie earned her Bachelor's Degree in Graphic Design from Carthage College in Kenosha, WI.

Margie is very active in the local real estate community. She's on the board of the CoreNet Global Chicago Chapter and Chairs the Programs Committee.

Most recently she was the 2013-2014 Chair of the Greater Chicago Food Depository, Commercial Real Estate Awards, which raised the most funds in 26 years, $1.13 million.

She was appointed Co-Chair of Membership on the newly formed Associate Board of the Greater Chicago Food Depository.
