Current responsibilities
Marie-Claire Cunningham is a senior member of JLL's Corporate Solutions team in New York. S

he is the Americas Transaction Advisory Services (TAS) product lead and is responsible for developing best practices and innovative solutions that optimize outcomes for JLL's clients.

She leads key initiatives for TAS that promotes JLL's 2020 strategic goals. She previously supported the firm's Transformation program by training and resourcing TAS subject matter experts and was the transformation program lead for a client.

Previously, Marie-Claire was the global transactions transition lead and lease administration transition program lead for a global financial services firm's 29 million square foot real estate portfolio. 

Her responsibilities included industrializing the retail and office transactions and lease administration processes to drive global consistency, reduce cycle time and risk and improve service harmonization.

Prior to this, she was the transactions center of excellence lead for a global financial services firm's national portfolio and also managed the retail leasing team which negotiated acquisitions and dispositions of the Bank's 500 branch network totaling 2.8 million square feet.

As the transactions center of excellence lead, Marie-Claire was responsible for implementing best practices and training the retail and office leasing directors in the account's processes, procedures, tools and systems. 

She also led a cross-functional team in the development of an opportunity assessment of the Bank's national retail and office portfolio totaling 9.6 million square feet (approximately 700 locations) that identified cost savings measures and monetization options. Ms. Cunningham completed a strategic plan for the Bank's 1.2 million square foot New York metropolitan office portfolio which included both owned and leased properties.

Marie-Claire joined JLL in 2005 from the Corporate Services Group at GVA Williams (now Colliers International) where she transacted more than two million square feet of acquisitions and dispositions in multiple markets on behalf of The Thomson Corporation (now Thomson Reuters), Wolters Kluwer and Prudential Financial.

She also developed strategies for several leading clients and developed and implemented a global strategic plan for a corporate occupier's six million square foot portfolio.

Prior to that, she was Real Estate Manager at Colgate-Palmolive Company where her responsibilities included disposing of surplus assets. 

Significant accomplishments include the disposition of 8 million square feet of development rights in Jersey City, NJ and the restructuring of the company's world headquarters lease at 300 Park Avenue, in which she leveraged the company's purchase option to restructure its lease and its surrender of 100,000 square feet of surplus space. 

In addition, she acquired and disposed of surplus assets in Asia and Europe.

Marie-Claire began her real estate career and spent 13 years at Corporate Property Investors ("CPI"), now Simon Property Group, in the asset management group where she was an assistant vice president.

Marie-Claire was named one of the top 50 women in real estate in June 2004 by AREW and Real Estate Weekly. She also received the Irish American Building Society’s Award of Honor in Real Estate in May 2006.

Marie-Claire earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance and International Business from New York University and is a licensed New York State salesperson.  

Marie-Claire served as president of the Association of Real Estate Women ("AREW"), located in New York City, in 2003-2004 and was a member of AREW's planning committee for the organization's 30th anniversary celebration in May 2008. 

In 2009, she participated on a steering committee of AREW leadership that negotiated the organization's affiliation with Commercial Real Estate Women (CREW). 

She was named one of the top 50 women in real estate in June 2004 by AREW and Real Estate Weekly. 

She received the Irish American Building Society's Award of Honor in Real Estate in May 2006.

She received a Performance Award from JLL in 2013.

She has volunteered for New York City Ballet for 20 years.
