Current responsibilities
Mark Schwartz is a Senior Vice President with Jones Lang LaSalle’s Lease Administration Group and has over 28 years’ of real estate experience in lease administration, tenant representation, transaction management, asset management and real estate finance.  Since joining Jones Lang LaSalle in 2003, Mr. Schwartz has had the responsibility for business growth and managing the day-to-day operations for Lease Administration in the region. 

Mr. Schwartz has oversight of a team of 64 lease administration professionals who manage over 20,000 leases, 2,700 owned locations and approximately $1.95 billion in rent spend.  Clients include AT&T, Canada Post, Computer Sciences, Duke Energy, Goldman Sachs and United Health Group.  In addition, he manages the teams’ performance through hiring and developing high valued talent, working with employees to develop and improve policies and best practices, mentoring them on building client relationships and providing excellent service to clients. 

These teams perform a variety of services including:  Abstract commercial lease documents, track critical dates, review CAM and other escalations & real estate tax invoices, review annual landlord reconciliation statements to ensure accuracy and lease compliance, review and process rent payments, rent variance analysis and reporting, resolve rent and other landlord/tenant billing issues and management of physical lease documents

Mr. Schwartz also works with our senior leadership providing expertise in our Account Transformation Review process as well as ongoing Account Reviews to ensure a Best-in-Class service delivery for our clients as well as our I-Stream process which generates new ideas and best practices for Jones Lang LaSalle.

Additional Jones Lang LaSalle clients Mr. Schwartz has worked extensively with include:  Aetna, BP, Deutsche Bank, Honeywell, T-Mobile, and Xerox.

Mr. Schwartz has managed real estate assets in excess of 8 million square feet and has overseen large real estate and finance operations, managing staff effectively to enhance company profitability.

While with Newmark and Company Real Estate, Inc., Mr. Schwartz provided portfolio services to organizations such as TMP Worldwide and and has served as Chief Administrative Officer of a Mortgage Bank in New York. 

In addition, Mr. Schwartz held the positions of Director of Operations of New York Business Centers, an Executive Office Suite operation in NYC and Vice President of DVL, Inc., a Real Estate Investment Trust, where he was overseeing an 8 million sq. ft. portfolio of commercial property with tenants such as Wal-Mart, K-Mart, Walgreen, Cineplex Odeon, Pitney-Bowes and AT&T.
