Current responsibilities
Jeff Hurvitz is a Senior Associate on the Government Investor Services (GIS) team. The JLL GIS practice is the largest of its kind in the nation and has successfully completed more than 4,000 individual lease transactions involving federal government tenants for private sector owners of real estate.

His responsibilities include strategic leasing and competitive analysis; creating reports, presentations and other collateral on market conditions for investors and developers; federal budgetary and macro-economic analysis; identifying business development opportunities both in the Washington, DC region and nationally; and preparing offering materials for federal lease pursuits on behalf of clients.

Jeff specializes in lease transaction management and capital markets transactions involving assets with federal tenancy. Jeff’s expertise includes performing complex valuations of properties in both lease and sale scenarios.

Jeff has aided in the pursuit of millions of square feet of federal leases on behalf of Government Properties Income Trust, Prudential Real Estate Investors, The JBG Companies, Teacher’s Insurance & Annuity Association, Equity CommonWealth, Hines, Brookfield Properties, Douglas Development, DRI Development Services, Cottonwood Partners, and other large institutional investors and developers.

Jeff has also participated in the sale of over $1 billion of majority government leased assets in his role as a founding member of JLL’s Capital Markets: Government Solutions team, a newly formed specialty capital markets group within JLL focused solely on the sale of assets leased to the federal and state governments.

Prior to joining JLL, Jeff worked for the Arthur Ravenel Jr. Company, a regional real estate investment and development firm based in Charleston, South Carolina. During his time at the firm, Jeff compiled due diligence for potential acquisitions, created proposals for the development of build-to-suit projects, and pursued leases from major national retailers for firm owned assets.

Beginning in 2006, Jeff worked for a national securities broker/dealer based in Bethesda, Maryland. In addition to obtaining his Series 7 General Securities Representative license, Jeff held positions at the firm in numerous departments including Triage, Client Services, Compliance, and finally as an application developer in the IT Department.

Jeff holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in Finance and a minor in Computer Information Systems from the College of Charleston.
