​​Current responsibilities
Mark Tufaro is a project executive within JLL’s healthcare practice.  His expertise in master planning is exceeded by his ability to manage complicated healthcare projects.  He provides clarity and direction to Clients, staff, and consultant teams who are responsible for design and implementation.  Mark is exceptional with mentoring and developing personnel and nurturing excellence.  He is proficient with FGIs’ Design & Construction of HealthCare Facilities and with NY, NJ & PA Department of Health procedures for health care. He is adept in Building Codes for New Jersey, New York City, New York State, and ​PA with expertise with ICRA and Joint Commission procedures.  Mark firmly believes in thorough preparation and conscience attention to detail is basic requirements to a projects success and paramount to Client satisfaction with their projects.

 
Previous experience
Mark, a registered Architect and trained engineer, has nearly 40 years of experience in the design and construction industry. As Director of Design for the Heery International’s Philadelphia design office, Mark oversaw all operations and work performed as well as performing all quality assurance and quality controls. As principal of his architectural firm, Mark delivered commercial and health care projects for a wide range of private and public projects. He also spent six years with the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, managing projects throughout this statewide health care network and research institution. Gaining knowledge of the intricacies of End Users and healthcare delivery methods from the Owners’ perspective.
  • Yale New Haven Hospital, New Haven, CT: $3B, 20 year Facility Master Plan; 40 Temple Street, Ambulatory Services Master Plan; Perioperative Master Plan and Implementation
  • St. Joseph’s Medical Center, Paterson & Wayne, NJ: University Pavilion Outpatient Imaging Center; Inpatient MRI Suite. 
  • University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, Newark, NJ: $107mm  NJ Medical School Cancer & research Center; $62mm Medical Office Building; Emergency Department renovation (Level One Trauma Center)
  • Grand View Hospital, Sellersville, PA:$32M - 4 phase Master Plan implementation including Space Optimization Plan for Outpatient Clinics and Ambulatory Care; $14M Emergency Department Master Plan; 27,000 sf Expansion of Intermediate Care Units. 
Education and affiliations
Bachelor of Architecture, Temple University and Bachelor of Science degree in Architectural Engineering from Spring Garden College, both in Philadelphia, PA.

 
Mark is a registered Architect in New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, Pennsylvania, Maryland and West Virginia. Mark is also a LEED Accredited Professional and is a member of national and Local chapters of the American Institute of Architects.
