Current ResponsibilitiesMs. Vanderland is a Senior Vice President in the Strategic Consulting group of Jones Lang LaSalle. She has over fourteen years’ experience in developing and implementing nationally recognized, flexible workplace strategies. She has a proven track record for delivering a highly creative yet analytical approach to workplace strategy development, optimizing real estate utility while cutting costs and increasing workforce satisfaction. Ms. Vanderland has been successful in leading large workplace change initiatives, building teams, and influencing at all levels of an organization. Her past experience as the business sponsor for a large workplace strategy change initiative enables her to develop a strong connection with teams facing similar changes. Ms. Vanderland has successfully leveraged those common experiences to effectively support the change management process for workplace changes.
Previous experienceMs. Vanderland founded Space Matters Consulting. Through this organization she delivered strategic consulting services to help transform real estate investment into an effective business differentiator, enhancing workplace satisfaction and workforce performance. The life cycle services she has provided to clients includes: Workplace Strategy development and standards for design and furniture, innovative change management planning and effective implementation.
Ms. Vanderland has assisted organizations in universal design concepts within the workplace to enable inclusion and diversity while enhancing workplace effectiveness and satisfaction.
While at Capital One, she delivered highly innovative workspace solutions to create a “future-of-work” environment and consistent change management plan for 60,000 associates in 14 million SF of office space. She was also successful in developing innovative workplace settings and next generation of workplace standards to enable space reconfigurations 70% faster with 25% greater space efficiency while removing space constraints as an obstacle to business efficiency. During her time at Capital One, she implemented a highly innovative workplace (Future of Work/Flexible Work Program) and change management strategy across a variety of business groups including HR, CRE, Brand, Accounting, Legal, Card, and Bank. Over four years she delivered change management and communications strategy for the Southeast region to support flexible work. She is customer focused with exceptional communication and relationship skills.Education and affiliationsMs. Vanderland earned her Bachelor of Arts degree with an emphasis on business sustainability from Mary Baldwin College. She is certified in Change Management by Prosci Institute and LaMarsh Global Managed Change and has also attended executive leadership sessions at Darden School of Business, University of Virginia. Ms. Vanderland has professional affiliations with the following organizations: US Business Leadership Network, Corporate Advisory Board, Acoustical Society of America, CoreNet, IFMA, and Workplace Revolutionaries and is a Governor appointee to the Virginia State Board for People with Disabilities.
