​Current responsibilities

Brian Shanfeld is an Executive Vice President with Jones Lang LaSalle and is a senior member of the Corporate Finance & Net Lease Group, a national practice that helps real estate occupiers and net lease investors make financial decisions that optimize transaction economics and maximize asset value. 

Brian's responsibilities include business development, asset and credit underwriting, transaction structuring, and equity placement. Brian extensive experience in helping occupiers evaluate real estate alternatives such as portfolio optimization, build-to-suit, and sale-leaseback executions. 

Experience

Brian brings over 12 years of real estate transaction experience (last 7 years at JLL) serving corporations, institutional investors, financial institutions and developer clients. Since 2005, he has been involved in the execution of transactions valued in excess of $3.5 billion including retail, office, and industrial real estate. 

Prior to joining JLL, Brian worked for Klaff Realty where he was responsible for underwriting over $500 million in acquisition/disposition volume, co-asset management of an $90 million retail portfolio and management support for the firm's private equity funds. 

Brian began his real estate career in the financial services group at General Growth Properties where he was responsible for creating complex financial analyses to support acquisition, redevelopment, and financing initiatives. He served as the lead analyst on the refinancing of a $5 billion credit facility and $50 million worth of regional mall refinancing activity.

Education and Affiliations
Brian holds an MBA from University of Chicago's Booth School of Business and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Miami University. Brian is a licensed real estate broker in the State of Illinois and a member of the International Council of Shopping Centers.
