Current Responsibilities
Matthew E. Weko, LEED® AP is a Senior Vice President and national Director of Project & Development Services for JLL. His background includes commercial real estate, project management, architectural design, construction, client relations, and team-building. In addition to his regional role, Matt is responsible for JLL’s Northeast higher education project management business and sets vision, strategy, and capital planning objectives, and oversees individual project staffing and resources for client locations around the globe. Educated as an architect and experienced in design, construction, and all facets of project management, Matt embodies a hands-on, service-driven philosophy and is well-respected for his patience, honesty, and professional integrity.
 
Experience
Throughout his career, Matt has proven himself as a capable and creative business leader, a tireless advocate for sustainability, and a presence in the Northeast design, construction, and commercial real estate community. Matt’s project experience includes new construction, renovations, building surveys, strategic planning studies, retail fit-out, structural rehabilitation, and general facility renewal work.
 
Weko has executed significant projects for the University of Pennsylvania, Drexel University, Merrimack College, Lehigh University, the Pennsylvania State University, Temple University and the Temple University Health System, and the Augustinian Province of St. Thomas of Villanova on the campus of Villanova University. The diverse projects include a 755 acre strategic real estate strategy for Lehigh University and a $36 Million adaptive reuse for the Temple University Health System. Other projects includes new construction, renovations, building surveys, planning studies, utility infrastructure, retail fit-out, structural rehabilitation, and generalized facility renewal work.  Project responsibilities include management of the entire design and construction process from conception through financial closeout and interface with other disciplines at JLL and within our client companies.
 
Prior to joining JLL, Matt was Managing Director of Design and Construction Project Management at CB Richard Ellis. His tenure included six years with Trammell Crow Company prior to its merger with CBRE in 2006. Matt’s early professional experience included architectural design for leading regional architecture firms where he specialized in large scale master planning.
 
Education and Affiliations
Matt holds an architectural degree from Lehigh University and he is a Certified Relocation Manager from the International Office Moving Institute. He regularly teaches, presents to professional trade organizations, and volunteers his knowledge and time. Matt is a member of the Board of Trustees of the Pennsylvania Ballet and is a member of the Kimmel Center for the Performing Arts Facilities and Operating Committee.  Matt is a member of the Board of Directors of the Delaware Valley Green Building Council (DVGBC). Matt has been recognized as a 40 under 40 by the Philadelphia Business Journal as well as 20 under 40 by ENR.
