Current Responsibilities
Mr. Pelavin is the General Manager of Grand Central Terminal, responsible for the overall management, operations, financial performance, marketing and leasing of retail areas and public and private events at the historic facility. He works closely with the MTA and Metro-North Railroad to ensure that the needs of the Terminal and the retail component are successfully met. Previously, Mr. Pelavin served as Director of Management Services at the Terminal. His responsibilities included operations, lease administration, financial reporting, management and computer systems, and support for the general management of retail operations.
Mr. Pelavin is an experienced real estate manager, having successfully managed large operating and capital budgets and provided leadership to large property teams. He specializes in realigning property teams, strategically improving property operations and reducing costs.  Because of his strengths in accounting and management systems, Mr. Pelavin was part of a national task force that participated in a company-wide initiative that included improvements to Jones Lang LaSalle’s property accounting product, as well as oversight of the development and implementation of the J.D. Edwards enterprise resource management system. 
Before transferring to Grand Central Terminal, Mr. Pelavin served the company as general manager of three buildings in New York, including The Equitable Tower at 787 Seventh Avenue and 335 Madison Avenue. In these positions he was responsible for management issues and leasing related to significant retail spaces.  His numerous accomplishments included annual operating expense savings, tenant and owner satisfaction increases and numerous lease negotiations.
Prior to joining Jones Lang LaSalle, Mr. Pelavin managed the development of a 52-acre, Class A suburban office park at The Norry Company, a commercial real estate firm in Rochester, New York.
Education and Affiliations
Mr. Pelavin holds a master’s of science in real estate investment and development from New York University and a bachelor of arts degree from Wesleyan University.  He was a founding member of the Board of Directors of the Alumni Association of the New York University Master of Science in Real Estate program and served as Vice President of Finance. Additionally, he has passed the New York City Fire Safety Director training course.
