Current responsibilities
Mr. Gordon is a National Director and Senior Vice President of Jones Lang LaSalle’s Project and Development Services Group for the Americas. Mr. Gordon is responsible for the growth and management of the development management practice group and Lieutenant to Andrew Jones, Managing Director, Project and Development Services.
 
During his tenure at Jones Lange LaSalle, Chris has overseen over a million square feet of transaction property and $100,000,000 (One Hundred Million) in managed costs.

Chris specializes in complex projects and demanding infrastructures for laboratory and specialized facilities as well as classified controlled and secure environments.
Chris provides his clients with expertise in build to suits, site development, base building and interiors for biotech, bio-pharma and data centers.

Experience
Chris started his career as a registered architect (1983) in North Carolina, working with many of the most prominent national architectural firms. HOK, NBBJ and SOM. 
 
After relocating to the Washington Metro area, (1997) Chris worked with a commercial construction group to balance out his real estate experience from the drafting board to the field.
In 2000 Chris joined The Staubach Company and worked in the Design and Construction Services group as a Sr. Project Manager.
 
Key transactions
Chris has completed several large projects for national clients including:
  • AERAS Global TB Vaccine Foundation, Rockville MD: 75,000-square-foot pilot plant, fill finish and purification manufacturing facility.
  • The Institute for Genomic Research Building 5, Gaithersburg MD: 150,000 square foot build-to-suit BSL-3 lab featuring bioinformatics and tissue culture research. Project features include a pathogen functional genomic resource center, multi-functional bio facility, state-of the-art bioinformatics sequencing labs and data center.
  • Classified Cyber Facilities – Somewhere in Northern Virginia, state of the art Cyber Range, Data Center and Testing Laboratories
  • Northrop Grumman, Richmond & Lebanon, VA: 6,000 square feet of Tier 3 Data and Call Centers for Northrop Grumman and Virginia Information Technology Agency located in Richmond Virginia and Southwest Virginia
  • Other clients include: Johns Hopkins University, ManorCare, Ritz Carlton Hotels, GTE, Bloomberg, AES, OTG, PBS and E-Trade.

Education
Chris has a Bachelor Degree in Architecture and Urban Design from Virginia Tech and a Master’s Degree in Architectural Design also from Virginia Tech. Chris taught at the University of Florida at Gainesville while working with the Mechanical Engineering Department with Passive and Active Energy systems.
Chris is a member of the American Institute of Architects, and co-chaired the Commercial Construction Group for the District of Columbia Building Industry Association.
