Current Responsibilities
Charles A. “Chuck” Straw is a Senior Vice President of Tenant Representation in Jones Lang LaSalle’s Mid-Atlantic Market.

Chuck specializes in providing portfolio services to corporate accounts, particularly telecommunications and technology companies.

Years of Experience

Chuck is a lawyer by training.  Out of law school he joined a real estate and business oriented private practice.  After a number of years in private practice, Chuck joined MCI Communications Corporation.  During 13 years at MCI, he served in a number leadership capacities, including Head of the Real Estate Section of the General Counsel’s Office, Director of Corporate Real Estate, Director of Corporate Procurement, and Director of Systems Development.

Chuck left MCI in 1996, prior to its acquisition by WorldCom, and joined The Staubach Company, initially spearheading the company’s growth of its corporate portfolio services unit on the East Coast.  Chuck was later asked to create and develop the first in-house counsel position in the history of The Staubach Company.  He subsequently assumed a dual role, continuing to provide in-house counsel services to the company’s Northeast Region and in support of the Region’s corporate services platform, while also providing client services in a brokerage capacity.

During his career, Chuck has been involved in major corporate headquarters transactions (in excess of 1.8 million SF), facilities consolidations and relocations (in excess of 2.0 million SF) and numerous other leasing transactions (acquisitions and renewals of technical and administrative facilities in excess of 1.5 million SF).

Chuck received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics, with Honors, from the College of Wooster, Wooster, Ohio and his Juris Doctorate degree from Georgetown University Law Center, Washington, DC.

Chuck is a member of the Maryland and Virginia (Corporate Counsel Certificate) bars.  He is also a member of the Association of Corporate Counsel and its Washington Metropolitan Area Chapter, as well as the TelecomHUB.  Chuck also serves as President of the Oakton Woods Homeowners Association and its Board of Directors.
