Current Responsibilities

Mr. Sellis is a Vice President on the Public Institutions team in Jones Lang LaSalle’s Chicago, IL office.  With the firm since December 2007, he supports the National Broker Contract for the General Services Administration (GSA). 
 
Experience

With more than 13 years of experience in the real estate industry, Mr. Sellis has developed expertise in all aspects of the real estate field, including asset and investment management, appraisal, consulting, sales and leasing.  He is responsible for GSA lease transactions as a Regional Manager in Region 5 (The Great Lakes Region, including Illinois, Wisconsin, Michigan, Indiana, Minnesota and Ohio) and Region 6 (The Heartland Region, including Iowa, Kansas, Missouri and Nebraska).

Positions

Prior to joining Jones Lang LaSalle, Mr. Sellis served as a sales and leasing broker, property manager and investment advisor.  In this role, he provided superior services to a group of high net worth clients, while leading the everyday management and leasing of their real estate investments.  Total assets under management were valued at $40 million and totaled over 250,000 square feet of retail and office space.
As an Investment Manager for Lend Lease Real Estate Investments, Mr. Sellis delivered expert financial and strategic consulting services to his institutional clients. Mr. Sellis managed a nationwide portfolio of hotel assets that were valued at approximately $350 million.  He governed on-site project managers and teams in the creation and implementation of daily operation strategies, annual budgets, marketing and branding plans, renovations, expansions and refurbishment of properties.  Mr. Sellis also managed quarterly meetings with on-site managers, conducted performance presentations to pension fund managers, clients and portfolio managers and assisted developers and project managers on several ground-up construction projects, expansions and renovations.  In addition, Mr. Sellis started his career as a Financial Analyst for the Real Estate Research Corporation, where he supported a team of appraisers and researchers, producing numerous full-service appraisals of income producing properties, plus quarterly as well as annual research reports.

Education and Affiliations

Mr. Sellis earned his M.B.A. from DePaul University in Chicago, with a concentration in finance and his B.A. in economics from the University of Wisconsin at Madison.  He is also a licensed real estate broker in the State of Illinois and a LEED® Accredited Professional.
