Current Responsibilities
Mike Nelson is a Senior Vice President in the Integrated Portfolio Services (IPS) group where he specializes in account management and portfolio advisory consulting on behalf of JLL's strategic clients.  Current and former strategic clients include: Carnegie Mellon University, Education Management Corporation (EDMC), BNY Mellon, Mylan, Cardtronics, Xerox and Affiliated Computer Services (ACS). In addition, Mike has managed one-off transactions on behalf of a number of additional clients across the globe. 
 
In his role as an Account and Transaction Management Lead, Mike leads transaction management and lease administration delivery as well as has leadership responsibilities to drive strategy and operational excellence.  Mike and his team provide a broad range of support that includes, but is not limited to: best practice development and implementation, site selection, financial modeling, negotiations, reporting and portfolio planning. The team also coordinates with clients to strategize, evaluate, develop and execute real estate transactions to meet their business needs. Transactions include lease acquisition (new site), renewal, expansion, consolidation, sale-leaseback and disposition of space (sublease, sale, early termination).
 
Experience
Since joining the firm in 2004, Mike has completed over 300 office and industrial leases (acquisition, disposition and advisory assignments) both domestically and internationally, totaling over 5 million square feet and representing an aggregate lease value of over $600+ million.  Throughout his 12 year career, Mike has represented a wide range of clients encompassing a broad set of industries.
 
Mike's experience includes real estate master planning and corporate headquarter consulting, market research, complex financial analysis, expanding client relationships and participating in the development and presentation of strategic planning.  Mike founded and leads the firm's Transaction Analytics Group (TAG). TAG's expertise includes accounting, tax and financial structure to help clients develop and execute optimal real estate solutions. Primary responsibilities include advanced financial modeling, transaction structuring, evaluation of deal structures and due diligence to help client's meet their economic and financial reporting objectives. In addition, Mike has provided advisory services to number of companies to develop necessary processes, procedures and system infrastructure within their real estate organizations (across multiple functions / disciplines) to ensure a seamless / integrated service delivery solution. 
 
Prior to joining JLL, Mike was an Investment Fund Accountant with Mellon Financial Corporation.

Education and Affiliations
Mike earned a Master's degree in Business Administration from University of Pittsburgh's Katz Graduate School of Business and a Bachelor of Business Administration degree with a concentration in Finance from the University of Pittsburgh's College of Business Administration, graduating with honors from both. 

Mike is a licensed real estate sales person in Pennsylvania and currently pursuing CCIM designation.
