Current Responsibilities

Mr. Kornberg is a 25 year, retail real estate veteran. During that time, he and has completed in excess of 1,500 transactions across the United States, on behalf of a wide variety of clients. Beginning in the second half of 2012 and continuing through the first part of 2014, he was integrally involved in helping to establish JLL's Local Market's retail practice and served as the National Practice Lead of the Tenant Representation Group. He has since transitioned back into a full-time production role leading retail brokerage for Chicago/Midwest.  In that capacity, he is directly responsible for managing all aspects of this core capability and ensuring its full integration as part of the broader, local markets' service offering. Additionally, Mr. Kornberg focuses on driving new business by cultivating relationships with retailers – nationally and globally. During his tenure at JLL, Kornberg was asked to serve as an inaugural member of firm's Global Retail Board, has served on the Americas Brokerage Leadership Council, which sets strategy for the firm's overall brokerage practice, The Retail Leadership Council and The Retail Brokerage Leadership Council

As a Senior Retail Executive, Mr. Kornberg has extensive experience in the site selection/acquisition and new store roll-out process.  He has overseen all aspects of the new store roll-out process including: concept analysis and customer identification, store criteria and profitability analysis, and project and facilities management. He has been directly involved in the high growth new store rollouts for:

•T-Mobile USA, Inc.  2001 – 2011  1,000 new locations

•Hollywood Video  2002 – 2005  250 new locations

•Texas Roadhouse, Inc.   2001 – 2002  40 new locations

Prior to his tenure at JLL, he co-founded and managed The Standard Group (TSG), and merged TSG into JLL in January 2008, which created the firm's Retail Tenant Solutions (RTS) practice.  This specialty practice served as an end-to-end, outsourced, alternative for all of the functions that would otherwise be performed by a retailer's in-house real estate department.
His additional experience includes serving as a Regional Vice President at Hollywood Entertainment, Inc. and as President of his own Chicago-based retail brokerage firm, Vision Real Estate.  His core competencies include account oversight/management, strategic planning, recruiting and team building.  

Education and Affiliations
Mr. Kornberg earned an M.B.A. from Washington University in St. Louis and a B.A. from Duke University where he was a four year member of the Varsity Football team and selected to the All-ACC academic team, his Senior year.
