Current Responsibilities
Douglas A. Omstrom joined Jones Lang LaSalle’s Brokerage and Industrial Services Group as a Senior Vice President, National Director in January 2011.  Mr. Omstrom is a 28-year veteran of the Long Island commercial real estate market who is based out of the firm’s Long Island office in Melville, N.Y.  Mr. Omstrom’s area of expertise is in the sales and leasing of industrial and office properties throughout Long Island.  During his career, he has completed in excess of 10 million square feet of sales and leasing transactions on behalf of landlords and occupiers.


Experience
Mr. Omstrom has successfully negotiated hundreds of sale and lease transactions for local, national, and Fortune 500 companies and investors and owners.  Several of his clients include such prestigious firms as Cablevision, Iron Mountain, BAE Systems Information, The Luxottica Group, Widex USA and Empire Carpet.  In 2007, Mr. Omstrom was part of the team that was awarded “Most Ingenious Deal Of The Year Award” for the successful sale of the 179,000 square foot former Bristol Myers Squibb facility in Garden City, N.Y.

Mr. Omstrom was a Senior Director and Partner for Corporate National Realty, LLC for the previous 20 years.  Prior to this, Mr. Omstrom served as Sales Manager for a national real estate firm for eight years, covering the Long Island market. 


Education and Affiliations
Mr. Omstrom is a graduate of The New York Institute of Technology with a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration.  Mr. Omstrom is active outside the business realm doing charitable works for such organizations as Big Brothers Big Sisters of Long Island.  Mr. Omstrom is a member of Long Island’s Commercial Industrial Broker Society as well as a past President.
