Current responsibilities
Mitchell L. Konsker is a Vice Chairman at Jones Lang LaSalle and has been a real estate professional for more than 27 years. Mr. Konsker is widely recognized as one of the real estate industry’s most prominent brokers and has been instrumental in negotiating many of Manhattan’s largest and most complex real estate transactions. Mr. Konsker has based his career on developing relationships with many various corporations, and has maintained them with impeccable service. He is known for his hands-on client participation and long-term customer relationships. His expertise and track record have provided his clients with bottom-line oriented results based on each client’s balance sheet objectives. Some of his national and international clients include: Cantor Fitzgerald, CIBC, Citibank, N.A., EMI Recorded Music, Harris Beach PLLC, H&M Stores, HSBC, Kohl’s Department Stores, Starbucks Corporation and The Reader’s Digest Association.

Previous experience
Notably, he represented Associated Press in consolidating its headquarters relocation into 292,000 sf, EMI in consolidating its North America offices into 162,000 sf in Manhattan, Discovery Communications for 150,000 sf, Calvin Klein/Philips Van Heusen in over 1,000,000 sf of transactions nationally, as well as relocating Dechert LLP into 235,000 sf in Manhattan and was involved in over 700,000 sf of transactions on behalf of the Bank of New York. Mr. Konsker facilitated the 600,000 sf World Headquarters of Ogilvy & Mather at 636 Eleventh Avenue, New York on behalf of the The Hakimian Organization. For this transaction, Mr. Konsker won the 2008 Henry Hart Rice Award given by the Real Estate Board of New York for the Most Ingenious Deal. In 2009, Mr. Konsker represented Li & Fung USA in acquiring an additional 350,000 square feet in order to create a corporate campus housed in 3 properties along the Broadway corridor in Manhattan, NY. Additionally, in 2010, Mr. Konsker continued to represent Li & Fung USA in acquiring 480,000 square feet with options to expand up to 1,000,000 square feet over time, at the Empire State Building. Mr. Konsker also recently led in the restructuring of Reader’s Digest National Real Estate Portfolio through its prepackaged bankruptcy process, resulting in more than 500,000 square feet of transactions in less than 6 months.

Mr. Konsker has sold some of the New York Metropolitan area’s most prestigious office and residential buildings throughout his career.  Recent sales include the $450,000 million sale of 522 Fifth Avenue, $550 million sale of 340 Madison Avenue, $161 million sale of 780 Third Avenue, $175 million sale of Delano Village, (an 1800 unit apartment complex), $70 million sale of One Hanson Place, and The Reader’s Digest Headquarter sale leaseback for $70 million in Pleasantville, NY. In addition, Mr. Konsker represents some of the largest landlords in the Manhattan marketplace. Amongst others, he has represented: The Carlyle Group; Emmes Real Estate, Global Holdings, The Hakimian Organization, JEMB Realty, Koll Bren Schreiber; L&L Holdings, The Macklowe Organization, Paramount Group, Inc., RFR Holdings, Savanna Partners; Shorenstein Properties, Stellar Management; Westbrook Partners and The Witkoff Group.

Education and affiliations
Mr. Konsker is a graduate of Syracuse University where he received a BS from the School of Management. Mr. Konsker takes an active role as a guest speaker in many real estate related industry panels. Mr. Konsker is a member of the Real Estate Board of New York and is involved in many charitable and philanthropic foundations such as: The Association for the Help of Retarded Children, Big Brothers/Big Sisters, Denver Hospital, Intrepid Museum Foundation, Israel Cancer Research Fund, Board of Directors of The Jeffrey Modell Foundation, National Foundation for Fighting Blindness, ORT, Project Sunshine and United Way.
