Jones Lang LaSalle Launches Innovative Social Media Tool in Retail Sector

Malls' websites will be one-stop repositories for all local and national retail deals

CHICAGO, March 18, 2011 - Jones Lang LaSalle Retail has taken its social media initiative to the next level with the addition of live retailer social streams on the websites of the centers it manages. The new platform is search engine friendly and fully integrates both top retailers' and individual properties' social streams into a unified web and mobile experience. Shoppers are able to view realtime posts from the mini-feed, and scope out the entire center for news and deals.
"Twitter and Facebook are leading avenues for retailers to communicate and interact with shoppers," said Julie Rickey, Senior Vice President and Director of Marketing, Jones Lang LaSalle Retail. "By engaging with our shoppers in an accessible and innovative way, we expect to increase traffic and help drive sales at the centers." 
Jones Lang LaSalle has engaged Imaginuity, a creative digital agency, along with its traditional agency The Dealey Group, to deliver the new technology and help Jones Lang LaSalle stay on the cutting edge of social media initiatives.  
The malls' websites will be one-stop repositories for all local and national retail deals. The strategy will be launched at all participating malls in a tiered approach.  Nine centers recently launched the new sites and 11 more are scheduled to launch on April 1.  Jones Lang LaSalle is a leader in adapting and integrating social media initiatives as it was one of the first shopping center management companies to initiate a social media strategy for the centers it manages.
