Jones Lang LaSalle Adds REIT Expert to Capital Markets Roster

Jonathan Morris joins as Managing Director in Washington, D.C.

WASHINGTON, D.C., Feb. 21, 2011— Jones Lang LaSalle today announced the firm has added a structured finance expert to broaden its capital markets platform throughout the Americas.  Jonathan Morris has joined as a Managing Director on the Real Estate Investment Banking (REIB) team, responsible for advancing the firm’s strategic advisory expertise to the firm’s public and private Real Estate Investment Trust (REIT) clients.  Morris will work under the direction of REIB Co-Heads and Executive Managing Directors Tom Melody, Mike Melody and Tom Fish and will be based in Washington, D.C. where he will partner with Managing Director Wes Boatwright.
This announcement comes on the heels of several new additions to the firm’s Capital Markets platform including the acquisition in January of certain assets of the Atlanta-based commercial real estate lending and servicing group of Primary Capital™ Advisors.  This acquisition will allow Jones Lang LaSalle to operate as a Freddie Mac Program Plus® Seller/Servicer and will include a $2 billion loan servicing platform.  Earlier this month, the firm also announced the hiring of two Credit Tenant Lease structured finance experts.
“As we continue to broaden the scope of our capital markets expertise, Jonathan’s past experience as a senior officer of three extremely successful REITs will enable us to greatly enhance our offerings to clients,” said Tom Melody.  “Jonathan offers more than 20 years of experience within the industry along with the deep relationships that coincide with that experience and we are confident that his abilities--combined with our firm’s global platform--will connect us with key players within the REIT arena.”
Morris has served as an executive with several REITs including Boston Properties and The Charles E. Smith Companies.  He was also an Executive Vice President, Chief Operating Office and the Managing Director for Capital Markets with Rosecliff Realty, a private pre-IPO REIT sponsored by Brown Brothers Harriman.  He has completed in excess of $1 billion in acquisitions and debt-related financings for those REITs.  Most recently, Morris was the Chief Executive Office for Prince George’s Metro Center (PGMC), a mixed-use real estate complex located in Hyattsville, Maryland.  He also co-founded LMH Realty Group, LLC, a private equity platform sponsored by Lerner Enterprises, Inc.
