Jones Lang LaSalle Hires Gilbert Ohls to Strengthen Client Services in New York


NEW YORK, November 17, 2010 — Jones Lang LaSalle has hired Gilbert Ohls as a managing director. Based out of the company’s New York office, Ohls will be responsible for strengthening client relationships and new business development throughout the New York metropolitan area.

Ohls, 36, has 12 years of experience in commercial real estate and specializes in serving clients involved in the hedge fund, private equity and financial services industries. Ohls has a diversified history of transactions that includes tenant representation, buying and selling buildings and land, landlord representation, retail representation, real estate development and conversion, and the repositioning of properties.

Ohls has completed more than 2.6 million square feet in lease transactions and has negotiated an equally substantive amount of commercial sales in Fairfield and Westchester counties. In 2005, he was involved in Fairfield County’s largest commercial office transaction, bringing RBS Greenwich Capital Markets’ regional headquarters to Stamford. The building, totaling more than 500,000 square feet of office space, houses the largest trading floor in the United States.

Prior to joining Jones Lang LaSalle, Ohls was a managing principal with Newmark Knight Frank’s Connecticut office, where he shared responsibility for the firm’s brokerage operations in Westchester County, N.Y., and Fairfield County, Conn.

Ohls received a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Villanova University. He is an active member of  the Greenwich Rotary Club and serves a volunteers for Big Brothers/Big Sisters, Kids in Crisis and Habitat for Humanity. Ohls is also a board member of the Putnam Indian Field School.
