Options Clearing Corporation Renews 58,000 SF Lease at 1 N. Wacker

CHICAGO, Nov. 2, 2010 — Jones Lang LaSalle announced today that the Options Clearing Corporation (OCC), the world’s largest derivatives clearing organization, has renewed its lease for 58,000 square feet of office space at 1 N. Wacker Drive.

Jack Keenan and Rob Schmidt of Jones Lang LaSalle completed the transaction on OCC’s behalf.

OCC operates under the jurisdiction of both the Securities and Exchange Commission and the Commodities Futures Trading Commission. The company now provides central counterparty (CCP) clearing and settlement services to 15 exchanges and platforms for options, financial and commodity futures, security futures and securities lending transactions.  In 1993, OCC became the first clearinghouse to receive a 'AAA' credit rating from Standard & Poor's Corporation, and has continued to receive that high rating every year as a result of its risk management standards.

Keenan, a Jones Lang LaSalle Managing Director, said that OCC elected to remain at 1 N. Wacker, where it has leased space since the building opened in 2001, because of its host of first-class amenities, exceptional value and convenient location just steps from the major West Loop public transportation hubs.

Tom D’Arcy and Tom Irvine of Hines Interests represented building ownership in the transaction.
