Jones Lang LaSalle Secures New 20-Year Lease for U.S. General Services Administration

FBI will fully occupy newly constructed Phoenix building beginning March 2012

PHOENIX, Oct. 14, 2010 — Jones Lang LaSalle, in conjunction with the U.S. General Services Administration (GSA), successfully negotiated a full-building lease agreement for the Federal Bureau of Investigation’s (FBI) Phoenix Regional Headquarters Office in the Deer Valley submarket of Phoenix, Arizona. The FBI will take occupancy of the newly constructed building, located at the Southeast corner of 7th Street and Deer Valley Road in March 2012. The 20-year lease totals 210,202 rentable square feet of space.  The building will be owned by Ryan Companies US, Inc.

Debbie Orkowski, GSA Leasing Contracting Officer, managed the procurement and awarded the lease. Jones Lang LaSalle professionals representing the government included Vice President Jessica Kokish, Senior Vice President Suzanne Drake, Managing Director Chris Roth and Vice President Dan Reidy.  “Utilizing all aspects of the firm’s expertise, we were able to guide the GSA through a comprehensive process that began with securing the land site and selecting a developer,” said Kokish.  “Given current capital markets conditions, we were determined to find a developer who could successfully construct a building for the FBI—one that will serve the agency for decades to come.”

GSA’s lease portfolio contains over 8,000 properties – approximately 184 million square feet according to information released publically – dispersed across the U.S.  Since 2005, Jones Lang LaSalle has assisted the GSA in the award of more than 750 leases and the firm is currently assisting on over 600 lease procurements for Federal civilian departments and agencies across the executive, legislative and judicial branches.
