Jones Lang LaSalle Bolsters Real Estate Investment Banking in Southern California and Houston

Bob Morey joins as Executive Vice President; Ross Cannizaro joins as Vice President


LOS ANGELES AND HOUSTON, Oct. 4, 2010–Jones Lang LaSalle today announced it has made several strategic hires to its Real Estate Investment Banking (REIB) practice in both Southern California and Houston.  Bob Morey joins the firm’s Los Angeles office as an Executive Vice President, and Ross Cannizaro joins the firm’s Houston office as a Vice President.

“With nearly 40 years of experience within the real estate investment banking sector, Bob is truly a very well respected and highly regarded real estate investment banker and advisor who works at a national level,” said Tom Melody, Executive Managing Director and co-leader of the firm’s Real Estate Investment Banking practice.  “He will make an immediate impact for the firm in southern California and our clients will strongly benefit from his long-standing relationships with life insurance companies, pension funds, opportunity funds and banks.”

Morey brings more than 37 years of experience in the financial industry to the firm, responsible for the solicitation, origination, underwriting, structuring, placement and closing of commercial and multifamily real estate transactions including permanent, construction, equity, and structured financing.  He has closed more than $10 billion of transactions during his career.  Morey earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Theoretical Mathematics at Bates College and his MBA in Finance & Accounting from the Whittemore School of Business & Economics at the University of New Hampshire.  He also holds a Certificate in Real Estate Finance from the University of California Los Angeles and has been honored as a District One Governor from Toastmasters International.

Ross Cannizaro brings more than seven years of experience in office and healthcare related asset sales to the firm, closing transactions in office, medical office, surgery centers, office-warehouse, office service center, single-tenant net leased, bulk warehouse, retail strip center, and land value deals.  He earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering from Louisiana State University and is a member of both BOMA and NAIOP.
