Smart Global Solutions Takes New Space in Crystal City

Technology firm recently won NASA contract

TYSONS CORNER, Va. September 21, 2010 – Jones Lang LaSalle announced today that Smart Global Solutions (SGS) is taking 22,227 square feet of office space at 2345 Crystal Drive in Arlington.  The firm recently won a $100 million NASA Sponsored Research and Education Support Services (SRESS) contract.

Jeff Groh and Mike Blyumin of Jones Lang LaSalle represented SGS.  Jim Creedon and Kay Chewning represented the building owner Vornado.

“Given our new work with NASA, we needed to identify new space and fast,” said Jack Kelly, Chief Financial Officer of SGS.  “Jones Lang LaSalle was an extremely valuable member of our team. Their responsiveness, market knowledge, negotiation skills and integrated project management team proved to be a true competitive advantage.  We could not have been successful in delivering on our customer’s extraordinarily aggressive cost and time-line expectations without Jones Lang LaSalle as a partner.”

SGS is a joint venture between SDSE LLC of Silver Spring and Global Science & Technology, Inc. of Greenbelt.  As part of their new contact with NASA, SGS will provide administrative, logistical, and information technology support for the peer review and project management activities of NASA's SRESS programs.

2345 Crystal Drive is located in Crystal City, a mixed-use development of Arlington, Virginia, situated between Reagan National Airport, the Pentagon, and Washington DC.  This Class-A building offers views of the Potomac River and the Washington skyline. With a wide variety of dining, shopping and beautiful landscaping, Crystal City provides a suburban type atmosphere, while maintaining close proximity to significant core business districts.
