Jones Lang LaSalle Represents SHI International Corp. in Purchase of New HQ in Somerset, N.J.

Jones Lang LaSalle Project Development Services group to oversee comprehensive infrastructure improvements at Class A office building

SOMERSET, N.J., Aug. 25, 2010 — Jones Lang LaSalle represented SHI International Corporation in its purchase of 290 Davidson Avenue in Somerset, N.J. The 420,000-square-foot Class A office building will serve as the company’s new headquarters.

Jones Lang LaSalle Senior Vice Presidents Shawn Straka and Steve Fleming represented SHI International in the transaction.

“SHI International Corp. has experienced rapid growth over the past few years, outgrowing its current headquarters location, and was evaluating new locations that would support its future business objectives,” said Straka. “This new location will position the company well for continued growth.”

The building, previously owned by LNR New Jersey Partners, Inc., was purchased by SHI International Corp. at substantially below market price and will support its growing business operations. SHI International Corp., a global provider of information technology and services, will occupy approximately 200,000 square feet.  The remaining space at the building is available for the company’s future growth needs as well as leasing opportunities for other tenants.

The building was formerly occupied by a national telecommunications provider, which vacated following the expiration of a long-term lease.

SHI International Corp. is scheduled to relocate to its new headquarters during the second quarter of 2011, and will initiate a number of upgrades and renovations to the facility. Jones Lang LaSalle’s Project Development Services group will oversee comprehensive infrastructure improvements at the building, as well as energy efficiency upgrades, and possibly the addition of solar technology.

Jones Lang LaSalle has been working on behalf of SHI International Corp. for a number of years, facilitating multiple transactions in New Jersey and across the country, including the purchase of its current headquarters in 2006 at 33 Knightsbridge Road in Piscataway, N.J.

“As the country’s premier IT hardware, software and professional services solution provider, SHI International Corp. is at the forefront of a growing industry,” said Steve Alt of SHI International. “We are extremely pleased that the team at Jones Lang LaSalle has been able to support our growth strategy with the purchase of our new headquarters location, which will provide us with the space and centralized location necessary for our company to remain an industry leader.”
