BOSTON, June 28, 2018 – As you drive down Route 20 West from I-495 you'll see the spectacular new 485,000 SF APEX Center of New England.
Now open and attracting attention from commercial real estate leaders nationwide, APEX is developer Robert Walker's (RAVentures.net) vision for creating a fully integrated New England campus where entertainment venues, restaurants, hotels, retail stores, professional services, and offices provide for unlimited on-site synergy and fun.
While your first impression of APEX is the sheer scope of its many colorful buildings and soaring architectural elevations along its half-mile of frontage, one's attention is inevitably drawn to its splendid signature achievement: the towering 175,000 SF APEX Entertainment Complex.
Constructed by Republic Building of in record-breaking time with 45' tilt-up panels trucked to the site and lifted into place, APEX Entertainment (apexentertainmentcenter.com) utilizes a ground-breaking approach inspired by architect JD Lagrasse & Associates. The sprawling mix-use development advances New England commercial building design by featuring bright pastels, multi-story window expanse, bright bold signage, and a curved angled roofline.
Inside the grand lobby four-story atrium below the seemingly sky-high ceiling, you're struck by the immediate proximity of the many APEX experiences in this 175,000 SF mega complex. On one side is the 86,000 SF Apex Entertainment venue with: 30 lanes of bowling, premium 2 story laser tag, four sports simulators, a state-of-the-art arcade with ropes course looming high above the games opposite a two-story kart track racing through tunnels, up hills and around hairpin turns.
On the other side is a state-of-the-art 21,000 SF Planet Fitness opposite a stunning 30,000 SF Altitude Trampoline Center. Higher still, venues include such innovative experiences as: Mind Trek Interactive Virtual Reality, BBKidz, Breakout Games Escape Center, and Half Axe hatchet target throwing! All of the venues have immediate access to the 2-story 300-seat Pit Stop Tavern and multi-function rooms with their many views into the various experiences going on around them, especially the APEX Bowling Center with its premium audio and video excitement.
Outside, the APEX building is flanked on the left by dramatic new 113,490 sf Apex Offices. The first phase, completed in December 2017, offers a 44,460 sf three-story building with a modern design that will be connected to a five-story 66,850 sf first class building through a beautiful two-story glass atrium. Leading global software technology manufacturer Vidsys now occupies first floor space to serve as their New England headquarters.
Also on the left of APEX Entertainment is a 250-space parking deck, and on the right by Goldfish Swim School and a prototype Title Boxing Club. The main APEX Entertainment parking lot is beautifully landscaped with indigenous trees and lush green islands surrounded by New England stone walls and granite curbing.
Designed with Hancock Associates, Apex Drive with its three main entrances, wide sidewalks, stone and landscape provides convenient access to all 13 APEX buildings and parking. Reminiscent of the futuristic world of the Jetsons, giant 30' tall robot-shaped pylons in APEX-themed blue and orange greet guests at each entrance.
The main entrance features an immediately accessible bus stop beneath the developer's signature majestic 130' high 1,800 SF American flag. Opposite APEX Entertainment is a Chick-Fil-A with drive-thru and a Pro Clean Auto Wash. Next to Chick-Fil-A is 58 Apex Drive, a dramatically-positioned, two-level, on-grade retail building with Wachusett Mountain views in which Okami is now opening its ultra-modern hibachi and sushi restaurant. Opposite Okami sharing substantial common parking stands the beautifully-landscaped T-Mobile, Protein House, and Starbucks with drive-thru.
At the center entrance, 110 Grill and Fairfield by Marriott bookend in futuristic APEX style Qdoba, Muse Paint Bar and several personal service retailers including European Wax, Dalla Nails and Dellaria Salon.
APEX Center hospitality also highlights an attention-grabbing Hyatt Place, the striking new free-standing Friendly's prototype with drive-thru, and the contemporary Italian restaurant Evviva Cucina.
Financial services are provided by IC Federal Credit Union in its retail store with double drive-thru with ATM (and ATM in APEX) who is joined at 160 Apex Drive by Sports Clips and eastern Massachusetts' first Hot Table Panini.
With its many innovative qualities, convenient access, practical synergies, and fun experiences for all ages, APEX brings to Marlborough a thrilling, energetic and diverse approach to New England commercial real estate.
