Jones Lang LaSalle Hires Roderick Barnes in New York

Barnes joins brokerage team to market firm’s Corporate Solutions services to middle-market clients

NEW YORK, April 12, 2010 — Jones Lang LaSalle has hired Roderick Barnes as a managing director in the company’s New York office. He will be responsible for working with Jones Lang LaSalle’s brokerage team to market occupancy services to middle-market clients. Barnes reports to Raymond Quartararo, international director and head of the company's New York tri-state area business development team.

Barnes, 49, has more than 21 years of experience in commercial real estate, specializing in relationship management and client service with major corporate clients.

“Jones Lang LaSalle is recognized as having the industry's best Corporate Solutions platform,” said Quartararo. “Rod Barnes will be instrumental in bringing elements of our Corporate Solutions platform to our brokerage team to help us further differentiate our tenant representation product from our competition.”

Previously, Barnes served as a managing director with Cushman & Wakefield, where he created and managed the company’s national client care program. He oversaw a 10 percent boost in client retention, coupled with a similar increase in client satisfaction and an increase in revenue per client over a two-year period. Prior to this position, Barnes was responsible for managing Cushman & Wakefield’s budgeting and strategic planning process.

Earlier, Barnes was a business planning analyst with Scudder, Stevens & Clark Inc., where he performed feasibility studies for the company and made recommendations on the launching of new mutual funds. Previously, Barnes was a legislative fiscal analyst with the New York State Assembly Ways & Means Committee, where he forecasted tax revenues, and researched and made recommendations on committee positions on fiscal bills affecting the state of New York.

Barnes received a bachelor’s degree in economics from the State University of New York at Albany and a master’s degree in finance and investments from Adelphi University. He also completed an executive development program at the Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern
