Jones Lang LaSalle Expands into Ann Arbor with Two Broker Hires

Neal Warling and Newcombe Clark appointed by firm to boost presence in Ann Arbor

DETROIT, April 19, 2010 — Jones Lang LaSalle has hired Neal Warling and Newcombe Clark to serve Jones Lang LaSalle’s clients in Ann Arbor and the Western Michigan area.  Based in Ann Arbor, Neal Warling will join as Senior Vice President and Newcombe Clark as Vice President for office and industrial brokerage. Both will specialize in all aspects of landlord and tenant representation.

“We have expanded our presence into the Ann Arbor area by hiring two top brokers,” said Jones Lang LaSalle Executive Vice President Ron Gantner.  “With Neal and Newcombe on board, we have two of the very best and are confident that they can support our local and regional clients in Ann Arbor and throughout Western Michigan.”
Warling founded Bluestone Realty Advisors LLC in 2005.  Under his tenure as President and CEO, the firm’s portfolio of properties for lease or sale grew to more than 3.2 million square feet.  Prior to his 20-year career in real estate, he was an Executive Assistant to U.S Congressman Chalmers Wylie of Columbus, Ohio. He holds a bachelor and masters of arts degree in Public Administration from Ohio State University.

With the move, Bluestone’s regional and national clients including the majority of the Oxford Company’s 1,000,000-square-foot portfolio will transition to Jones Lang LaSalle. The remaining Bluestone employees will focus on leasing smaller downtown and campus retail and office space.  Jeff Hauptman, Oxford Company’s President and CEO and Bluestone’s current CFO will assume Warling’s former position.

“My business partners and I realized that, while we could build Bluestone into a finely tuned and respected brokerage operation in the local Ann Arbor market, we had limited potential to grow without the recognition and platform that a strong international real estate company could provide,” said Warling.

“Jones Lang LaSalle’s international reach, institutional relationships, excellent reputation and financial stability, could provide us with exactly the platform we were seeking to best serve our clients.  Oxford Companies will become an important client for Jones Lang LaSalle and we will have a close relationship with them going forward,” concluded Warling.

Newcombe Clark also joins Jones Lang LaSalle from Bluestone Realty Advisors where he was a founding associate and partner.  Clark began his career at Swisher Commercial in 2000 and by 2002 was one of the founding sales associates of Oxford Commercial.  He holds a bachelor of arts degree in Japanese and a bachelor of science in mechanical engineering from the University of Michigan.

Jones Lang LaSalle employs 400 real estate professionals in the state of Michigan, with 33 based in its Downtown Detroit corporate office. Client services include Office and Industrial Tenant and Landlord Representation; Project Leasing; Disposition, Property, Transaction, Integrated Facility and Project Management; Lease Administration; and Move and Retail Management. Jones Lang LaSalle has approximately 29.1 million square feet of space under management across the state.
