Evoqua Moves World Headquarters to Downtown Pittsburgh

JLL Serves as Site Selection Consultant for Evoqua’s relocation

PITTSBURGH, August 8, 2017JLL is pleased to announce Evoqua Water Technologies' (Evoqua) move from Warrendale, Pa., to 210 Sixth Avenue in Pittsburgh's central business district (CBD), making it the largest new lease signing in the CBD since 2014. Evoqua will initially occupy approximately 60,000 square feet across three floors of the building, with options to expand in the future.

JLL served as the exclusive site selection consultant for the company's relocation, analyzing multiple options for Evoqua's corporate headquarters and executing on the opportunity that best supported Evoqua's plans.

Companies Increasingly Moving to Pittsburgh's CBD

"Many companies are following the trend of relocating from the suburbs to the CBD to attract and retain millennial talent. Today's young professionals want to live within close proximity to their place of work, as well as dining and entertainment options. Another prominent company moving to the CBD speaks volumes to the livelihood of Pittsburgh's downtown scene," said JLL Managing Director Dan Adamski, who represented Evoqua.

In addition to Evoqua, recent examples of companies moving to downtown Pittsburgh include MetLife, UHC and Microbac, all of which relocated from the suburbs to the Fringe in 2016.

"One of our top priorities in relocating was finding a space that worked well for our employees," said Chris Wild, Global Corporate Real Estate Manager at Evoqua. "Downtown Pittsburgh aligns with our location strategy by moving to a convenient, central location—and further solidifies our commitment to economic growth in the region."

Evoqua serves more than 38,000 customers, including a substantial majority of the industrial companies within the Fortune 500, 7,800 U.S. wastewater sites, and more than 1,800 global drinking water treatment sites. In Pittsburgh, some of Evoqua's water treatment installations include the water used in animal habitats at the Pittsburgh Zoo & PPG Aquarium, and disinfection of the water at the world-famous fountain at Point State Park. In addition, Evoqua is a member of the Allegheny Conference on Community Development, partner of the Pittsburgh Steelers, and the Evoqua Zamboni helps take care of the frozen water of the Stanley Cup Champion Pittsburgh Penguins.
