Jones Lang LaSalle Retail Gives 600-Man Hours of Volunteer Work to Park Pride

More than 200 executives volunteer at Gilliam and Reynolds Park in Atlanta

ATLANTA, March 29, 2010 — For the second year in a row, more than 200 Jones Lang LaSalle Retail executives from around the country came together to give back to the local Atlanta community.  The team welcomed spring by hiking up their shirt sleeves to work at Gilliam and Reynolds Park, just outside of downtown Atlanta.

The 200+ executives joined forces with the City of Atlanta and Park Pride, a partner of the Atlanta Parks and Recreation Commission, to help with overall park maintenance work, specifically on the vegetable gardens which provide much needed fresh produce to the Atlanta Food Bank.

The Jones Lang LaSalle team spent three hours at the parks building and mending fences, mulching trees, cleaning trails, trees and underbrush, as well as planting and watering trees, building gardens and planting vegetables.

“We received so much positive feedback from our employees and clients after last year’s volunteer day that we knew we had to do it again,” said Greg Maloney, CEO and President of Jones Lang LaSalle.  “Giving back to the community is a critical part of being a good corporate steward, and we want to lead by example in everything that we do.  Plus, it’s extremely rewarding to get your hands dirty, do hard work and know that the fruits of your labor went to a good cause.”

About Park Pride:

Park Pride, founded in 1989, is the only organization that works with communities all over Atlanta to improve their parks. Each year Park Pride coordinates more than 20,000 hours of volunteer work in Atlanta parks, develops new conceptual park plans for neighborhood parks and helps start many "Friends of the Park" groups. Park Pride is able to engage and serve the community by generating these Friends of the Park groups, which focus on advocacy efforts as well as promoting participation in Park Pride's Adopt-a-Park, Park Visioning, Volunteer, Fiscal Partners and Micro Grant programs. Park Pride continued to work with local organizations and community members to support the creation of the Atlanta BeltLine, which promises to create more than 1,000 acres of new parks and 33 miles of trails. The organization's annual Parks & Greenspace Conference serves as the signature event to create a world class park system in Atlanta.
