JLL Selected as Industry Partner by Dallas Independent School District and Dallas County Community College District for College Degree Program

Engineering Services team to provide mentorship and training for Dallas P-TECH program

DALLAS, February 22, 2017 – JLL is proud to announce their new partnership with the Dallas Independent School District and Dallas County Community College District. The company will serve as an Industry Partner for Dallas' P-TECH program beginning next year.

The P-TECH (Pathways in Technology Early College High School) program allows eligible high school students enrolled in the program the opportunity to earn an associate's degree in four to six years, as well as industry certificates, in one of several categories while they earn their high school diploma. Students are required to select a "career path" upon enrolling and are given a specialized curriculum including academic courses, technical training and internships corresponding with their selection. The program is tuition-free for the students.

"P-TECH is an amazing opportunity that allows our students to learn and grow along side of industry professionals which in turn positively impacts our Industry Partners Workforce Pipeline," said Jeannette Papadopoulos, P-TECH Director of Workplace Learning.

JLL will assist with P-TECH's new Stationary Engineering program, providing student mentorship and assisting with implementing the workplace learning curriculum. They will also coordinate worksite visits, industry-related guest speakers and several "real world" projects for the students.

JLL Regional Engineering Manager Chis Hacker and the Engineering Services team have been working on this partnership for two years.

"P-TECH is an incredibly beneficial program for students, their families and the community, and we are excited to be a part of it," said Hacker. "We look forward to supporting and mentoring the next generation of great engineers."

There will be two sets of School Partners participating in the Stationary Engineering program: Hillcrest High School Collegiate Academy - Richland College and Justin F. Kimball High School Collegiate Academy - Mountain View College.
