JLL Inks Deal for Owners of One Newark Center

Law firm Calcagni & Kanefsky takes 6,930 square feet at Class A, 420,118-square-foot office building in downtown Newark


EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J., January 10, 2017 — JLL has completed a new, direct lease at One Newark Center, 1085 Raymond Boulevard in Newark, N.J., for the owners, a joint venture between The Praedium Group LLC and Mack-Cali Realty Corp. Law firm Calcagni & Kanefsky LLP signed a lease for 6,930 square feet at the Class A, 420,118-square-foot office building.

The building owners were represented by Jon Meisel, managing director, and Chris Conklin, vice president, both with JLL.

"One Newark Center is a terrific, high-end building in downtown Newark that offers an ideal home to a number of prestigious law firms," said Meisel. "Calcagni & Kanefksy is a growing business that has thrived at One Newark Center. We were able to retain the law firm for Mack-Cali, while nearly tripling its space at the building."

Calcagni & Kanefsky LLP, a premier litigation and investigations boutique, inked a long-term lease to expand its occupancy from 2,500 square feet to 6,930 square feet, and will continue to occupy the 14th floor at One Newark Center, which is located at the intersection of Raymond Boulevard and McCarter Highway in downtown Newark.

The 22-story Class A office tower was designed by Grad Associates and construction was completed in 1992. The property features an elegant stone lobby and a large building café with outdoor patio seating on the sixth floor.

One Newark Center occupies a prestigious downtown location in the heart of Newark's central business district and is within walking distance of Newark Penn Station. The office tower is also yards from the New Jersey Performing Arts Center and a few blocks away from the Prudential Center.

The office building has approximately 45,000 square feet of office space available. For the first time since construction was completed on the building in 1992, the 22nd floor will be available for lease, offering 360-degree views of the downtown Newark along with spectacular skyline views of New York.
