JLL Bolsters K-12, Higher Education Expertise with Key Hire

Sundaresh Kamath joins JLL as Vice President in Houston, Texas

Houston, Aug. 30, 2016 – Houston continues to see exceptional development activity within K-12 and higher education systems. In response, JLL today announced Sundaresh Kamath has joined the firm as Vice President.

With more than twenty years of project management experience, Kamath specializes in managing construction and development programs for universities, college systems and public school districts. He joins JLL Houston's Project and Development Services (PDS) group, under the leadership of Executive Vice President John P. Roberts.

"As school districts, colleges and universities continue to address the challenges of cost control, deferred maintenance, student attraction and retention, access to private sector capital and best practices, many are evaluating their real estate to optimize value and fulfill their mission," said Roberts. "Sundaresh's strong background in K-12 and higher education reinforces the firm's position as a leader in real estate project management within the education sector."

Prior to joining JLL, Kamath oversaw the Construction and Facilities Services Department for Houston Independent School District, where he managed the implementation of projects under the 2012 Bond Program. Additionally, he has held senior management positions with Lone Star College System and Fort Bend Independent School District, and previously handled construction projects at the University of Nevada and Nevada State College.

Kamath holds a bachelor's degree in architecture from the Manipal Institute of Technology in India and a master's degree from Arizona State University. He is a licensed architect in Texas and Nevada, a LEED Accredited Professional and a Certified Building Code Official. He is also a member of the American Institute of Architects, the International Code Council, the Green Building Certification Institute and the Association for Learning Environments.
