2016 Building Energy Summit® Announces Keynote Speakers

Premier building energy conference to focus on new technologies transforming building efficiency and the employee experience

CHICAGO, February 23, 2016 – Global visionaries from companies like Marriott, Cisco and JLL, will open the 2016 Building Energy Summit, taking place on March 16 in Washington D.C., with a look at how today’s technologies are changing the way commercial buildings are built, managed and experienced.

The 2016 Building Energy Summit is built around the theme of “Redefining Efficiency in the Built Environment.” This annual event brings together hundreds of commercial building owners, energy experts and technology pioneers to explore strategies, collaborate on best practices, share successful case studies and provide the resources for benchmarking buildings, monitoring real-time energy usage, analyzing operational data, making efficient upgrades and changes, and integrating the latest technologies to significantly cut energy consumption.

“This year’s Summit will examine how the Internet of Things, data and analytics and smart building technologies are rapidly transforming building efficiency and how we experience commercial buildings,” said Darlene Pope, event producer and Senior Vice President, Energy and Sustainability Services, JLL. “In addition, we’re going to continue the conversations that began at COP21 about the role of commercial buildings in reducing greenhouse gases and combating climate change.”

The opening general session will focus on “Real Estate Beyond the Digital Age,” with presentations on transformational building technologies and the employee experience, featuring:

• John Baekelmans, Chief Technology Officer, Internet of Everything (IoE) Solutions Group, Cisco;
• Maureen Ehrenberg, Executive Managing Director of Integrated Facilities Management (IFM), JLL; and
