Jones Lang LaSalle Hires Top Industrial Execs in Miami

Steve Medwin, Harry Wardell and Nick Wigoda to ramp up firm’s industrial expertise


MIAMI, FL, February 15, 2010 — Jones Lang LaSalle announced today that it has hired three top industrial brokers to broaden its expertise in South Florida. Steve Medwin, SIOR, CCIM and Harry Wardell, SIOR join as Executive Vice Presidents and will lead the South Florida Industrial and Logistics group based in Miami. Nick Wigoda joins as Vice President. Together with the existing Jones Lang LaSalle industrial team, they will provide expert counsel to individuals and companies leasing, purchasing, developing and disposing of industrial properties throughout South Florida and around the nation.

A 20-year industry veteran, Steve Medwin has completed more than 500 commercial real estate transactions valued in excess of $1 billion and has sourced more than $150 million worth of acquisition and development opportunities for his previous employer, Lincoln Property Company. He has represented several Fortune 500 companies in site selection, acquisition, disposition and development of industrial properties throughout the U.S.

Medwin received a Bachelor of Arts degree in economics from the University of Vermont. He holds the prestigious SIOR (Specialist, Industrial and Office Real Estate) designation and has obtained the CCIM (Certified Commercial Investment Member) designation. He has received numerous industry awards during his career including the 2008 Florida NAIOP (National Association of Industrial and Office Properties) awards for industrial sale and industrial project of the year.

With a distinguished career spanning 40 years in South Florida commercial real estate, Harry Wardell has deep experience in sales, development, leasing and investment, including sourcing more than $150 million worth of acquisition and development opportunities for his previous employer, Lincoln Property Company.  He was the principal of his own development firm for 25 years and has represented several Fortune 500 companies in site selection, acquisition, disposition and development of industrial properties throughout the U.S. A member of SIOR, ICSC (International Council of Shopping Centers), and NAIOP, he was recently appointed to the University of Florida’s Warrington College of Business Real Estate Advisory Board.

Nick Wigoda has held key positions in industrial and corporate services as well as Director of Development where he managed large development projects including Paramount Bay in Miami, a $400 million high-rise, mixed-use project totaling 1.2 million square feet. Educated at University of Vermont in economics and political science, Wigoda is member of NAIOP and is a board member for the Commercial Industrial Associates of South Florida.
