JLL Expands Brokerage, Project & Development Services Teams in New York

Brokers Lisa Kiell, Kenneth Siegel, Derek Trulson advance to vice chairman;


NEW YORK, September 23, 2015 — JLL recently expanded its executive team in New York with the promotion of five professionals. Lisa Kiell, Kenneth Siegel and Derek Trulson, senior members of JLL’s New York brokerage team, were promoted to vice chairman from managing director. Vincent Knoll and Dana Robbins Schneider, senior members of the firm’s Project and Development Services group in New York, were promoted to managing director from senior vice president.

Kiell, 51, is responsible for planning and implementing transaction strategies for a wide range of clients in the New York metropolitan area and globally, with a focus on technology, law firm and financial services clients. She has extensive experience providing strategic brokerage and implementation services to clients developing and executing real estate plans. Kiell leads the Women’s Group in New York for JLL, focusing on the retention and promotion of future leaders. She also co-leads JLL's National Law Firm Group practice in New York.

Prior to joining JLL, Kiell worked in real estate development/leasing for LCOR in Jersey City and as an auditor for PriceWaterhouse Coopers (successor by merger to Coopers & Lybrand). She earned a master’s degree in real estate development from New York University and bachelor’s degree in accounting from Emory University. Kiell is a certified public accountant and a licensed real estate broker in New York.

Siegel, 56, is a senior leader of the firm’s Tenant Representation practice in New York. He manages relationships with national and global occupier clients, and leads tenant representation assignments for clients in New York and the metro area. Siegel’s tenant representation expertise spans portfolio master planning, transaction strategy and execution. He also co-leads JLL's National Law Firm Group practice in New York.

Prior to joining JLL, Siegel worked in the real estate finance group at Cowen & Co., at Solow Building Co. and was a CPA at Price Waterhouse. He received a bachelor’s degree in economics from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, graduating magna cum laude, and earned his master’s degree in real estate and finance from Columbia Business School.

Trulson, 49, oversees New York-based and national client transaction management, business development, and identification of local and national strategic growth opportunities. He represents corporations with complex strategic and organizational issues defined by facilities, construction, technology and personnel. Trulson established JLL’s Financial Industry Practice and Operational Planning Practice.

Trulson began his career as a developer and construction project manager, managing the complete building process from space planning to permit/design review to construction and tenant move-in. He earned a bachelor’s degree from the University of Washington Building Construction Program. Trulson is a licensed salesperson in New York.

Knoll, 55, is a member of the firm’s Project and Development Services group and the senior member of its Healthcare Practice in the Northeast. He has more than 32 years of expertise in healthcare development and construction, and has overseen healthcare-related construction projects in 15 states.

Prior to joining JLL, Knoll served as vice president with Kessler Rehabilitation Corporation and with Select Medical. He developed and constructed more than 90 noteworthy healthcare projects and facilities, supervising both transition and commissioning plans and providing oversight during those activities. Knoll is a member of the American Society of Healthcare Engineers, the National Fire Protection Association and Healthcare Facilities Management Society of New Jersey.

Robbins Schneider, 38, leads JLL’s Energy and Sustainability Services group in a region anchored by New York, Boston and Washington, D.C., and works as part of JLL’s national and global energy and sustainability practice. She leads the team implementing a whole-building energy retrofit of the Empire State Building in New York. This initiative uses a groundbreaking analytical model for maximizing energy and return on investment, which she was instrumental in developing. Robbins Schneider is now replicating the energy optimization process she developed for the ESB in more than 60 buildings across the United States and in dozens of interior fitouts.

She is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of the University of Virginia, where she earned a bachelor’s degree with distinction in environmental science and architecture, with a concentration in urban and environmental planning. Robbins Schneider is a LEED Accredited Professional and serves as a Technical Resource Expert for the Clinton Foundation’s Climate Positive Development Initiative. She is Vice Chair of the USGBC IEQ Technical Advisory Group, serves on the Board and Programs and Education Committee of the New York Chapter of the U.S. Green Building Council and is a member of the Real Estate Roundtable Sustainability Policy Action Committee and REBNY Sustainability Committee.
