JLL Expands Property and Asset Management Business in Texas

Sam Shannon joins firm as Senior Vice President in Austin

AUSTIN, August 13, 2015 – As part of its ongoing efforts to continually enhance the firm’s platform in local markets across the U.S., JLL today announced it has expanded its Investor Services expertise with the addition of Property and Asset Management Services into Austin, Texas.  As part of the new Property and Asset Management service line, JLL will provide its fully integrated approach to commercial office and industrial properties in the Texas Hill Country region.

“The addition of Property Management in Austin boosts our firm’s presence and strategic growth plan to become the preferred commercial real estate provider in Texas,” said JLL Managing Director and Austin/San Antonio Market Leader Todd Wallace.  “Our Agency Leasing platform has grown by 3.5 million square feet over the last 10 months and because we’ve always wanted to work with our clients to improve every aspect of their operations, this was the next logical step.”

JLL Property and Asset Management professionals provide accurate and timely financial reporting, reduce operating expenses, mitigate risk and increase tenant retention.  The firm has over 1,300 LEED certified professionals across the U.S.

As part of the expansion, Sam Shannon has joined JLL as Senior Vice President and will lead the market’s administration and implementation of new management assignments, commercial construction and property management for the region.  As a 16-year commercial real estate veteran, she has experience managing and leasing commercial office, retail and industrial portfolios in excess of 1,000,000 square feet.

“As a local expert with a trusted reputation, Sam will advise our investor clients on the best and most efficient ways to add value to their portfolios,” said Kevin Kimbrough, Co-Leader of the JLL Austin Agency Leasing team.  “She brings a fresh perspective to JLL, which will help guide our vision for each asset as we develop custom-fit real estate solutions.”

Shannon was previously a Regional Vice President with Austin-based Capstone Real Estate Services where she supervised the company’s leasing and management portfolio of multi-tenanted mixed-use, medical office, urban and suburban office buildings.  During her tenure with Capstone, she achieved 100 percent collections across the portfolio, executed multi-million dollar renovations and ADA upgrades, and completed over 350 lease transactions.

“I am excited about the opportunity to join JLL’s Investor Services team and incorporate its Property Management services in Central Texas to provide our clients the full-service offerings they’ve been asking for,” said Shannon.
