American Academy of Dermatology Association and Reinsurance Association of America Moving to 1445 New York Avenue

WASHINGTON, December 10, 2009 – Jones Lang LaSalle announced today that the American Academy of Dermatology Association (AADA) and the Reinsurance Association of America are each taking 9,700 square feet at 1445 New York Avenue.

David Bevirt, Carroll Cavanagh and Holly Davis of Jones Lang LaSalle represented the building’s owner.  Manny Fitzgerald of CBRE represented the AADA.  Rick Rome, Nicole Miller and Alexandra Hunihan of Studley represented the Reinsurance Association of America.

“1445 New York Avenue is a historic landmark office building overlooking the White House and Treasury Building,” noted Cavanagh. “This is the first time in more than 10 years that space has come available here and, despite the weak leasing market, there is still demand for a location with this much character and history."

Listed in the National Register of Historic Places, 1445 New York Avenue was designed by James Hamilton Windrim and constructed in 1888. Situated one block from the White House, the building has witnessed many extraordinary events in the country’s history including 19 In-State Presidential Funeral Processions and 29 Presidential Inaugural Parades.

1445 New York Avenue is located in the heart of the East End and is two blocks from both the Metro Center and McPherson Square Metro stops.  Neighborhood restaurants, retail and sightseeing opportunities abound. The building, with executive level office space, offers grand arched windows, 15-foot finished ceiling heights and unparalleled views of the Washington Monument, White House and the historic Treasury Building.
