GSA Signs New Lease for Chicago HHS Office

The U.S. General Services Administration (GSA) successfully negotiated and awarded a new lease agreement for the Department of Health and Human Services’ (HHS) Chicago Regional Office on November 20, 2010. The 10-year firm term lease was awarded to the successful Offeror, Parkway Properties, LLC, an affiliate of Parkway Properties, Inc, a self-administered real estate investment trust. Since Parkway Properties, LLC is the current Lessor, HHS shall continue to be housed at Two Illinois Center, 233 N. Michigan Avenue, Chicago, Illinois.

The lease totals 184,042 rentable square feet of space on six floors and includes 21 parking spaces. Upon the completion of renovations to its space, the new lease will commence in the winter of 2010.

Clair Jones, GSA Leasing Contracting Officer, managed the procurement and awarded the lease. Jones Lang LaSalle (JLL) represented the Government in this procurement process.
