JLL Earns Top Marks in 2015 Corporate Equality Index

Perfect score on Human Rights Campaign Foundation’s annual scorecard underscores commitment to LGBT workplace equality

CHICAGO, November 20, 2014 – JLL earned a perfect score of 100 on the Human Rights Campaign Foundation’s 2015 Corporate Equality Index (CEI), a national benchmarking survey on corporate policies and practices related to LGBT workplace equality. JLL is one of 366 major United States businesses receiving top marks this year, making it a “Best Place to Work for LGBT Equality.”

In the last year, JLL expanded its corporate benefits specific to the LGBT workforce to include transgender health benefits and inclusive equal employment opportunity (EEO) policies. For example, Building Pride, JLL’s Employee Resource Group representing the LGBT workforce, has an independent mentoring program that includes more than 200 members from across the U.S. Additionally, JLL is a corporate sponsor for Reaching Out MBA, attends Out and Equal, and is a member of the National Gay & Lesbian Chamber of Commerce (NGLCC).

“Our perfect CEI score reflects JLL’s commitment to its employees, and to promoting diversity and inclusion in the workplace,” said Beth Hayden, Chief Human Resources Officer, JLL Americas and Building Pride Executive Sponsor. “Creating a culture that is inclusive is one of JLL’s core values. It’s the right thing to do, and is the best way we can ensure JLL recruits and supports top talent, and drives opportunities for both employees and the company.”

The 2015 CEI rated 972 businesses in the report, which evaluates LGBT-related policies and practices including non-discrimination workplace protections, domestic partner benefits, transgender-inclusive health care benefits, competency programs, and public engagement with the LGBT community. JLL’s efforts in satisfying all of the CEI’s criteria resulted in a 100 percent ranking and the designation as a Best Place to Work for LGBT Equality.
