Brian Ginkel and John Lorence Promoted to Managing Directors at JLL


Minneapolis, MN (March 25, 2014)—JLL has announced that the firm has promoted two top brokers in its Minneapolis office, Brian Ginkel and John Lorence. Previous Executive Vice Presidents, both have been promoted to the position of Managing Director. The promotions are in recognition of the high levels of success achieved by these professionals in a relatively short period of time. The announcement was made by Chris Rohrer, Executive Managing Director.

“Through their outstanding work and consistent achievements, Brian Ginkel and John Lorence have played a considerable role in the increasing success and expanding presence of the Minneapolis office, Rohrer said. “Given their track records, their promotions to Managing Directors are appropriate and well-deserved.”

Ginkel, who joined JLL in 2007, specializes in advising corporations on strategic real estate initiatives. Brian is also a member of JLL’s national Data Center Solutions Practice. Included in the significant list of highlighted transactions he has completed are the 180,000-square-foot Olympus Surgical Technologies new headquarters and innovation center in Brooklyn Park and the 451,000-square-foot Wells Fargo renewal and lease consolidation in Minneapolis.

Additional companies Ginkel has represented include Ernst & Young, Kimberly-Clark, Principal Financial, Microsoft, Piper Jaffray, ShopNBC, Oppenheimer Wolff & Donnelly and Mackall Crounse & Moore.

Awards and recognitions Brian has achieved at JLL include the 2013 Top Gun Award and the 2014 Best of the Midwest Award. At age 34, he was the youngest recipient in the Midwest to receive the award.

Ginkel is an active member of the Minneapolis real estate community and has achieved a number of designations based on production, service and continuing education. He is a Certified Commercial Investment Member (CCIM) and a member of the Society of Industrial & Office Realtors (SIOR). He also has achieved the Masters in Corporate Real Estate (MCR) designation.

John Lorence is a Managing Director of the firm’s corporate solutions services. He provides national account management for several Twin Cities based companies including Toro, Great Lakes Higher Education Corp. and Eide Bailly. Lorence joined JLL in 2008 and was previously with the Staubach Company. In awards and recognitions presented by JLL, Lorence was named a 2013 Gold Achiever, 2012 Top Gun and a 2011 Top Achiever.

Lorence’s success can be highlighted by a number of notable transactions, including the Wells Fargo renewal and lease consolidation totaling 451,000 square feet, Kroll Ontrack renewal and lease consolidation of 195,000 square feet, Infor renewal and consolidation of 150,000 square feet, and Synovis renewal and expansion of 80,000 square feet.

Additional companies Lorence has represented include KPMG, Concur Technologies, Michael Foods, Merchant & Gould, Piper Jaffray, Marsh & McLennan and Regus.

Lorence is an active member of the Minneapolis real estate community and has achieved a number of designations based on production, service and continuing education. He is a member of MNCAR.
