JLL's Minnesota Office Kicks Hunger with Taste of NFL

Outreach Results in 67,600 Meals for Children, Families and Seniors in Upper Midwest

MINNEAPOLIS, Feb. 03, 2014—The Minneapolis-St. Paul office of Jones Lang LaSalle teamed up with Taste of the NFL and its Kick Hunger Challenge this year to raise money for Second Harvest Heartland food bank, which feeds children, families, and seniors in need of food throughout the upper Midwest.

The Twin Cities' office of Jones Lang LaSalle surpassed its initial goal of $5,000 and raised a total of $8,450 through employee, friends, family and matching gift donations. With every donated dollar providing up to eight meals for those who rely on the services of a food bank, the Jones Lang LaSalle donation is equivalent to 67,600 meals.

The undertaking was related to the Taste of the NFL’s Kick Hunger Challenge, an annual campaign that encourages fans to donate directly to their favorite team’s food bank. This year, donations targeted toward the Minnesota Vikings' preferred food bank raised the eighth highest amount nationwide.

The Taste of the NFL, a Minneapolis-based 501c3 that manages the fundraising events, has raised more than $14 million for this critically important cause.

"We reached out to all of the Minnesota offices with our fundraising effort," said Carole Grinde, Marketing Associate, who worked with three other Jones Lang LaSalle employees in the Twin Cities to oversee a two-month fundraising campaign. The committee, which also included Katie Riegelman, Pete Kostroski and Amy Ruiz, organized weekly email blasts and coordinated outreach efforts.
