Diversity MBA Honors JLL Leader for Empowering LGBT Community

Dean Monnin featured as a “Top Emerging Leader” for professional accomplishments and commitment to change

CHICAGO, July 23, 2014 – Diversity MBA Magazine announced that has named JLL’s Dean Monnin one of its “Top 100 Under 50 Diverse Executives & Emerging Leaders.” Diversity MBA Magazine, an internationally distributed publication targeting professionals in corporate business and government, will recognize Monnin at its annual Leadership Forum and Awards Gala and in its Fall 2014 issue.

This year’s “Top 100 Under 50 Diverse Executives & Emerging Leaders” roster represents a global selection, with honorees from China, Africa and Europe, and are affiliated with multiple industries, including retail, financial services, transportation, healthcare, education, medical, communications, government and consulting.

Monnin, a 20 year industry veteran, is Senior Vice President, Project & Development Services for JLL. He began his career in Washington, D.C. as an Interior Designer for an international design firm, then as a Project Manager for Freddie Mac, where he lead capital improvement projects. He joined JLL in 2004, and has since overseen the strategy and implementation for real estate projects in nearly every sector, including higher education, retail, restaurant, industrial and entertainment. Monnin’s role as Global Project Management Lead for high-value clients serves as the foundation for his professional reputation within the firm.

Reinforcing Monnin’s track record for business excellence is his vested commitment to JLL’s Diversity & Inclusion strategy. He is the founding member and national champion of JLL’s LGBT employee resource group (ERG), Building Pride, which today represents 195 members. Under Monnin’s leadership and efforts, JLL has achieved a near-perfect score on the Human Rights Campaign’s Corporate Equality Index, revised its corporate benefits policies to include those specific to the LGBT workforce, such as transgender health benefits and has increased general awareness and dialog around LGBT issues.

“Dean’s commitment to JLL’s clients, community and culture reflects a unique passion and leadership quality, said Beth Hayden, JLL Chief Human Resources Officer. “His sharp business acumen, relationships in and outside the company, and dedication to JLL’s Diversity & Inclusion program make him an ideal recipient for this kind of recognition. JLL’s leadership is consistently amazed by his loyalty to our firm and by how he empowers our diverse community.”

Monnin holds a bachelors of science degree in design from the University of Cincinnati, a Master’s in Business Administration from John’s Hopkins University, and is a LEED Accredited Professional with the U.S. Green Building Council. JLL awarded Monnin the 2013 National Leadership Award for D&I, and the 2014 Project and Development Services (PDS) Diversity and Inclusion Award.

“In our eighth year of celebrating the top 100 executives and emerging leaders, organizations continue to share their brightest talents with the marketplace. These leaders value excellence not only in their work, but also they value continuous learning as demonstrated by their pursuit of higher education,” said Pam McElvane, Diversity MBA CEO & Publisher.
