Business Development Executive to Focus on Land Brokerage

TYSONS, VIRGINIA, JUNE 23, 2014 - JLL announced today that Jim Herbert has joined its Industrial Practice Group in the Mid-Atlantic region as a vice president focusing on land brokerage.

Herbert brings more than 25 years of business development experience to JLL. He was most recently a business development officer with the Loudoun County Department of Economic Development, where he worked to expand the department’s commercial business development team, grow Loudoun’s organic start-ups and small businesses, and retain and expand established businesses.

"Jim's high-level consulting experiences and knowledge of the inner-workings of local municipalities will serve JLL's clients well," said Mark Levy, Managing Director Industrial, JLL. "We're happy to have him join our team."

Prior to joining the Loudoun County Department of Economic Development in August 2012, Herbert was the Managing Partner at GlobalStrat LLC, where he spent more than six years providing business development services for mergers and acquisitions, new business start-ups, and international expansion. Herbert's career also includes nine years as vice president for global business development with E.J. Krause & Associates, serving much of that time as the senior liaison for the global joint venture between E.J. Krause and its international partner, Reed Exhibition Companies.

As a Vice President in JLL's Industrial Practice Group, Herbert will work with clients who want to leverage land for commercial use and clients seeking land suitable for commercial development. Herbert's client-focused strategies will include the creation of a development strategy, research of potential development partners and parcels, consulting services for land use rezoning and permitting, and transaction marketing and sales.

A resident of Middleburg, Virginia, Herbert currently serves on the Boards of the Piedmont Community Foundation, the Middleburg Community Center, the Mosby Heritage Area Association and Christmas in Middleburg.
