JLL welcomes Clark Finney to its New York leasing team

Meet our new Senior Vice President who will provide Agency Leasing & Tenant Representation services throughout Manhattan

Jones Lang LaSalle (“JLL”) has hired Clark Finney as a senior vice president in its New York office, where he will be responsible for new business development, agency leasing and tenant representation services throughout Manhattan.

Prior to joining JLL, Finney served as a senior director for a major Manhattan brokerage firm, specializing in agency leasing and tenant representation transactions.

“Clark Finney is one of the leading professionals in his peer group in Manhattan,” said Philip Palmer, executive managing director and head of JLL’s brokerage operations in New York. “His passion for real estate, and his drive and expertise will be crucial to further expanding JLL’s growth in New York.”

Over the course of his career thus far, Finney has received several notable distinctions–in 2009 he was honored by the Real Estate Board of New York with its New York’s Most Promising Commercial Salesperson Award, in 2011 he was named by Crain’s New York Business as one of its Top Five Commercial Brokers Under 30, and in 2012 he was profiled by The Commercial Observer in its annual 30 Under 30 feature.

Having grown up playing sports, Finney attributes his interest in commercial real estate to both the competitive nature of the industry, balanced with its inherent sense of team.

“The competition in real estate, as well as the fact that we work on commission, keeps me on my toes and drives me to work harder. It adds a little bit of fear to your day-to-day, which I think is healthy,” said Finney. “I also like being on a team, and working with that team to find new and creative solutions to each real estate problem.”

The 30-year-old, who grew up in Baltimore, moved to New York to start his career in real estate directly after finishing college.

“New York is the biggest market in the world,” continued Finney. “I thought, if I’m going to do this, I want to do it in the place that will be the most challenging and provide the most opportunity.”

And, seven years in, Finney remains positive about the Manhattan real estate market and his evolving role within it.

“It seems like the market has been busy, we’re certainly busy, and there’s a lot of new opportunity–both on the Tenant Representation and Agency side. From what I can see, there’s definitely a fair amount of cautious optimism out there. I’m pretty optimistic about life in general, and I think there’s support for us to be optimistic about the real estate business.”

Finney earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Washington & Lee University. He is a licensed real estate broker in the state of New York.

Finney volunteers his time as co-founder of The Adeona Foundation, a charitable organization created to benefit and improve the lives of deserving children in New York.
